Welcome to TheSpeechDoc and speech-language pathology, commonly known as speech therapy. You’re here because you need information about speech and language and, possibly, about how speech therapy is important for other developmental disorders, such as autism and ADHD.
As a parent, you may be frustrated by the well-intentioned, but possibly conflicting, information or advice you have received about speech and language and what is best for your child. This information may have come from family, friends, or others, and, of course, the internet. Your frustration is understandable. Speech and language are very complex, with many layers, and it can be overwhelming to sift through the tremendous amount of information available and feel that you have made the right decision for your child.
TheSpeechDoc is designed to provide you with useful, up-to-date information that is organized in a way that makes sense. I want my website to be a valuable tool to help you make a confident, informed decision about what is best for your child.
I Invite You to Explore How Speech Therapy Can Benefit Your Child
If you are thinking about speech therapy for your child, I am here to help you. I am a licensed speech-language pathologist and have education and training in regular and special education, as well as speech-language pathology. Being a doctoral level therapist is unique in North Texas, and I am proud to bring that level of training to the therapy table for your child. I also have 30 years of experience in both public school and private practice speech therapy. My experience in both settings gives me a unique perspective about children, families, and successful speech therapy programs.
I work to help children, youth, and young adults with problems in speech and language. Generally, I work with ages 3 to 21, but younger children and older adults are accepted on a case-by-case basis.
Thank you for visiting TheSpeechDoc. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you and your child.
